Dear Class:

As you work on the "Final Project", I want to work with the students that need my individual help.

While you are working on the below "Final Project", I will be calling you up one at a time and going over grades/folder information.

You will all import the data and I will go over what queries and reports are and the differences. You will then run a few reports and then save them to the desktop. In the end, you will upload these reports into your google docs in your shared folder. Create a folder entitled "Reports and Queries" if you would.

Please use the following four pages as the exit project and then we are done with Database (I can provide a hard copy but I don't have enough for everyone). Page 1

Dear Class:

We finished up cleaning up the query/report that we did. This will include "centering" data and putting in a footer with your name on it. Then it will be "Exported" and "Published" as a pdf file. We will also add just a little bit to our notes, especially about wild cards. We will be doing queries which sometimes has "wildcards". I want to look at examples for query criteria at this link.

You should be done with exporting MyTunes Excel Spreadsheet into Access. MyTunes spreadsheet.

You will have to open it up and export it into Access. We did this before with the class excel spreadsheet so this should be no problem. Download the below worksheet that asks questions regarding the MyTunes Access file

Dear Class:

Terminology: We will add "Object", "Tables", "Forms", and "Reports"

Watch the Tutorial on Access 2013 to get a better idea. We will start with lesson 1. I do want you to open up your Database notes because some of the terminology will need to be put in.

Why use a database—information about customers, information about inventories, any type of information a business would need. You can design, manipulate, sort, and print.

Who has a database—schools, libraries, government, stores, banks, business on inventory and employees

Field?
Requirements: contain a unique name, describe the field, <= 64 characters, cannot begin with a space, can’t use . , ! [ ]

Spreadsheet containing the information from your filling out the form. "Shared Spreadsheet"

Enter the information onto the spreadsheet that has been shared.

Let’s put our class in a database. . .

Create a database
Different programs: MS ACCESS, Oracle, Dbase
We use ACCESS
Determine fields and data types
