Dear Class:

We should finish the shooter game today.  You will go to the below YoYo sight and download the zipped file that has the resources that we will use for this game.

You will be working on the game on your own using the Tutorial.  We got to page 11 of the tutorial so start there.  That will involve colliding with the bullet.

While you are working on the tutorial, I will be calling each of you separately up to check on your projects and grade.

The last tutorial is the 3d one and then we shift, hopefully, to Alice.org animation creation.

You will download the "3-Dimensional Games".  This will include the "Resources" folder you will need and the Tutorial itself.

We will be doing the "Scaling" game, but I want to talk to you about the "Isometric", "Parallax", and "Parallel" games they have available.

We will see how we do!  YoYo

We move to the 3D Game and then to Alice which should be on your computers.

Please play with the settings for the mountains that we worked on to see what happens, especially on the x,y axis for the parallax game.

3D Game will follow the Parallel Game. We will finish the roadway with the car. I want to grade the tree game and this car game at the same time.

The time line is thus: We finish the car "game" today. We start Alice maybe next class, doing the "Hour of Code". We finish Alice on June 4. I will give you January 27 and your final day to create a project of your own for the final. You may use any program that we have used during this semester for this project.

Thanks.

Sincerely,
Mr. Green-Hite

Dear Class:

I want you to work on a bridge usingthe West Point Bridge Design 2012 for the rest of the class.  I was thinking of going into GameMaker but I am afraid that there is too much variation in where everyone is.  Please submit one bridge design that you feel is good.

Dear Class:

This is an add on to the previous part we were doing.

You should be done with the "Lottery" VB program from last period.

A lot of you were also done with the radial button.

Choose any of the  "grades" that are in Lesson 10 on the tutorial at the website.

As an exit "test" for Visual Basic, you are being asked to create a program on your own that you create from scratch. It has to have at least 2 buttons, four text boxes and 4 labels. It must serve a function, such as figuring out sales tax for purchases.

I want you to work on a bridge usingthe West Point Bridge Design 2012 for the rest of the class.  I was thinking of going into GameMaker but I am afraid that there is too much variation in where everyone is.  Please submit one bridge design that you feel is good.

I hope to look at transitioning to GameMaker 8.0. GameMaker 8.0 is already loaded, although you may have to go to the C drive to load it. The first tutorial consists of:

Tutorial

Resource 2
Resource 3
Resource 4
Resource 5
Resource 6

We will see how we do!
